Federico Lombardi, S.J.

The 76-year-old Jesuit priest is the former director of the Holy See Press Office (2006-2016) and president of the Joseph Ratzinger - Benedetto XVI Vatican Foundation. Pope Francis has asked him to moderate the plenary sessions. In addition to his native Italian, Lombardi speaks the conference languages: English, Spanish and French, as well as German.

Archbishop of Bogotà (Colombia) and President of the Latin American Episcopal Council (CELAM). The 76-year-old Columbian is member of the Congregation for Bishops, the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See and the Pontifical Commission for Latin America.

Journalist and writer, correspondent of Noticieros Televisa (Mexico) at the Vatican since 1974, The 64-year-old Mexican journalist covered the Popes from Paul VI in 1974 and traveled on 100 of 104 apostolic travels with John Paul II. as well as all apostolic travels with Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis.

Card. Oswald Gracias

Archbishop of Bombay, India, since 2006 and President of the Episcopal Conference of India. The 74-year-old cardinal also serves as Papal adviser in the College of Cardinals and is member of Congregations for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments and for Catholic Education.

Charles J. Scicluna

Archbishop of Malta and Adjunct Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. On behalf of the Holy See the 59-year-old Canadian-born Maltese prelate has conducted investigations into sexual abuse by clergy. In 2015 Archbishop Scicluna was appointed as President of the canonical team (The College for Recourses) dealing with appeals filed by clergy accused of abuse.

Card. Blase J. Cupich

Archbishop of Chicago, Illinois, USA. The 69-year-old cardinal is member of the Congregation for Bishops and of the Congregation for Catholic Education. From 2008 to 2011, he served as the Chair of the Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

Card. Reinhard Marx

Archbishop of München und Freising (Germany); chairman of the German Bishops' Conference. In 2012 he was elected as as President of the Bishops' Conference of the European Community. With 65 years he is the youngest member of the College of Cardinals and also Coordinator of the Council for the Economy.

Card. Luis Antonio Tagle

Archbishop of Manila (Philippines) and since 2015 President of Caritas Internationalis and the Catholic Bible Federation. The 61-year-old is member of the following Congregations: for Catholic Education; for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life; for the Evangelization of Peoples.

Dott.ssa Linda Ghisoni

Undersecretary for the Laity of the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life. Since 1997, the 53-year-old canonist has served in several functions in the ecclesiastical Tribunals of the Diocese of Rome and with the Roman Curia. Currently she is invited professor at the Faculty of Canon Law of the Pontifical Gregorian University.

Sr. Veronica Openibo, SHCJ

Elected Leader of The Society of the Holy Child Jesus. Born in Nigeria, Sr. Veronica entered the Society in 1973. She has worked as an educator and in pastoral and social work. She is also on the Executive Board of the International Union of Superiors General (UISG), and serves as Vice President of the Board of Service of Documentation and Study on Global Mission (SEDOS).
